Let me start by saying I have a unique situation.I, admittedly, have a few pounds to lose. I bought a 34x34 pair of these pants. I actually do wear 34x34 but find that the fit can change depending on the brand. This is the first pair of Gioberti pants I've bought and I'm fairly pleased.The Fit - I have a 34-inch waist but my thighs are a bit large. This leaves me in a bit of a pickle because pants either work in one of two ways: They're either loose around the waist and comfy around my thighs or tight around my thighs and comfy around the waist. This particular pair achieved the latter. They're tight around my thighs but not too tight, in fact, they fit quite snugly while still allowing me to have all of my pockets filled. They're also comfy around the waist.The Fabric - The fabric is very soft. Make no mistake, these are not cold-weather pants. I've gotten through a few low 60's days with these but I would never wear these in the fall or winter. It seems durable. I write software so I'm not doing a lot of moving around in them.The Design - These are pretty stylist pants. The flexible waist is done in a way that's not obnoxious. You're not going to unbutton and drop these, look down, and think "Oh man these are very obvious stretch fabrics". The button is nice. I'm used to having a buckle as well but the button achieves the same goal, effectively.Overall - I'm pretty pleased with these. I've only had these for about a week or two but they've survived my ire, which is more than most can say.I've only just received these pants, so I don't know how they will wear, but I can comment on their fit. BE AWARE that there are two versions of each pants (Charcol and Charcol B, Tan and Tan B, Navy and Navy B, etc.). The "B" designation does NOT refer to a different color. The "B" versions have an internal hook and eyelet closure, as well as an exterior button. The pants without the "B" designation have only a button closure of the type found on jeans.NOTE: The two versions of the pants DO NOT FIT IDENTICALLY. I have bought about a dizen pairs of these pants in different sizes trying to get the sizing correct. I've noted below what I've learned.WAIST: I have found the "B" versions, the hook and eyelet version, to run larger than the non "B" version, despite both having the elastic expandable waist feature.For me, the "B" versions are more comfortable. I'd say if you're on the large end of a particular size, get the "B" version. If you're on the smaller end of a size, try the non "B" version.LENGTH:: Here's where it gets complicated. In my experience, the "B" versions run two inches long. For example, I usually wear a 32 inch inseam, but for the version "B" pants, I wear a 30 inch length. However, on the on the non "B" versions, the 32 inch length is actually 34-35 inches, yet the 30 inch length is true to size; it really is 30 inches. Therefore, if you need a 32 inch length, buy the 30 inch length of the "B" versions only. I have found no way to actually get a 32 inch length pant in the non "B" version; the 30 inch size is actually 30 inches long, but the 32 inch size is actually 34-35 inches long.I have purchased similar pants like these in the past. I like these kind of pants for when I gain a little bit of weight. I know that I want to stay at my normal 34" waste but like most men I tend to gain weight in the winter time especially around the holidays. My incentive is to fit into my normal 34" waste pants. When pants start fitting too tight I know to cut back on eating and do more exercise. While in the process I need some comfortable dress pants to wear that will fit during the process. These pants are a good quality pants and look like they will last many years. I only wish that the difference between available pants were explained better. I ordered ones that I thought were metal clip and button but received single button down only. I call these my Holiday pants.Looks really nice on my husband! He wears a 40x32. If they had been any smaller too little for him. Good material for the price! The butt area is tight so good thing he has small bunns! Otherwise nice pants! We will keep them! Just thought they had the hook inside the flap but they do not. Just the button that is somewhat hard to unbutton. he played with the button and buttonhole and got it to loosen up. He will wear them for our 50th anniversary cruise picture! Wanted something special and these will work!These pants are a great quality. I would suggest ordering a size bigger than expected. While the relaxed/expandable waist is awesome. They did fit but when the elastic of the expandable waist is extended there is a gap near the top of the pocket. If you are wearing a sports coat or sweater then it would cover it but if not the holes would be revealed. I tried to safety pin the holes closed but it caused the pockets and waist not to fit correctly. Moving a size up fix the issue.I like these Gioberti dress pants. They have a nice dressy look to them. But I do have one complaint. It's the same con as several of the other reviewers have noted. the button at the top of the zipper gave me a hard time. The maker of these pants either need to make the button a little smaller or the button hole a little larger. The difficulty of buttoning and unbuttoning the button over the zipper is the reason why I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5 stars.The perfect dress pants. I have a 34 waist in jeans so I ordered these hoping they would fit. They do! The fit perfectly. I don't have to use the expandable waist feature at all. And they look very professional. Light weight material just the way I like them. I got the 34x32 Black B size. Length is perfect too. I fully expected that I would be sending these back after reading some of the reviews. But they are just perfect and are keepers for sure!
