These are pretty much the only pants I wear (I have multiple pair) and they're awesome. Classy, stylish, and comfortable. However, in ordering multiple pair of these, I've come to learn that the size I order (34x34) all fit different in the waist and at one pair feels like a 35. I literally swim in that pair.Aside from that discrepancy, like I said, I live in these. And being that they're basic black, they go with anything. These are great for casual work or weekend. I wanted to try something a little more wicking than the Columbia Roc pants that have been my go-to for years and I like these a ton. Great wicking that keeps me cool and dry, reasonable stretch, slimming cut, and a terrific finish that looks good and sheds spills amazingly well. I hope they're durable, but they're already beating the Columbias by a mile in looks and ease of care, I've bought another color already and plan to buy more. Not bad for travel pants in the price range, but could use a few improvements. The length is noticeably shorter than some other 32" inseam pants I have like these; they fit me pretty well because I'm more of a 31/31.5" though.Pros;- A true straight fit.- Great leg opening dimension; again, a true straight fit.- Discrete leg pocket keeping a clean look yet very useful, a sort of cross between cargo pants and slacks. I think it's worth noting it's a small pocket though. It holds a lens cleaning cloth, contact/eye drops, and a card wallet nicely (probably not a wallet large enough to hold bills though).Cons/improvements I'd like to see;- The biggest issue for me is the front pockets flare out; the cut to them needs to be addressed.- The material stretches a bit more than I care for and I think less stretch would be/feel more durable.- The leg pocket would be better if it went about an inch lower than the zipper so it gave things a place to settle and not fall out if opened while standing. (But the pocket going towards the back of the leg is great for when opening while sitting.)One other thing I'd like to see added that other brands are doing is an integrated belt. This and a stronger material would likely require a slightly higher cost, but they would be well worth it; maybe those would be best on a separate offering though.I've had 3 pair of these over 8 years. Love them. But...this last pair is different. I bought same ones a couple of months apart and this pair has different pockets, different belt loops, and fit completely differently. Please go back to old style and fit!!!What a terrible experience...1.) I purchased three pairs of these pants for a long backpacking trip internationally, never wearing them until the trip. After minimum wear, the zipper broke on two of the three. I expected better quality given the price and the brand name.2.) I reached out to Amazon, who coordinated with Eddie Bauer, and they approved a refund with the condition of having to ship them in with a shipping label provided by Eddie Bauer. I carried the unusable pants with me for weeks so I could ship them from Canada when I got there to visit family (they have a return location in Canada).3.) Getting the correct shipping labels took several phone calls with Eddie Bauer customer service. They made mistakes all along, giving the wrong shipping labels a few times and not emailing them on one occasion after waiting their time frame. It took weeks and many hours on the phone with Eddie Bauer - I finally received the correct labels after forcing them to stay on the phone with me to confirm the correct labels were sent.4.) As stated above, Eddie Bauer already approved the refund upon receipt of the pants. I FINALLY got them shipping out 18 November 2021. After dealing with this mess, Eddie Bauer then had the nerve to ship the pants back to our used shipping address in Canada, rejecting out previously approved refund stating "The product was purchased more than a year ago".What a nightmare!I can't tell you how many travel pants I bought but were disappointed with. I need to secure my belongings so I need closures on the back pockets and prefer a secret pocket in the leg to hide my passport and these pants nail it. Zippers on both back pockets and a great pocket in the leg that is some work to get the passport in by design so it is hard for someone to swipe it from that pocket (if they could get that low without being seen). Fabric is quick dry so I can wash them at night, wring them out and hang dry by the next day. Bought them in 3 colors. Just watch because I found the pants length varied in a couple cases but Amazon was fine with swapping for another size. These fit me perfectly with a comfortable but not baggy cut. The side zipper pocket is just big enough for a passport or wallet but not a phone. It would be great if it were 1" longer and wider. The front pockets are deeper than many travel pants. The overall look is nice, with a casual Khaki look. These are very light and will pack into a miniscule ball in my suitcase. Excellent quality.
